A word we made up. Adventure plus -naut — the same -naut you find in astronaut, cosmonaut, and cavenaut. Navigators of an adventure. You can think of advenautics as our version of Imagineering: the creative arm of Ohnrshyp where we build the tangible tools, experiences, and free learning resources that help someone — you — go somewhere new.
Sophon is the first piece of that. Consider it a kit bag for your next adventure, whatever you decide that is.

Ohnrshyp is a cassette-future, NASApunk, STEMpunk company. Our interests are music, culture, and critical thinking. Our habit is building tools that help people — and better systems for those tools to live in. We make tangible things that invite people to explore for themselves, think for themselves, and keep moving toward a bigger creative life.

Unlike Astronauts, we like to call ourselves Advenauts. And the rule is simple: if something doesn't exist and it should, we'll try to make it — and then we'll give it to you, as free as we can.
Where Sophon comes from
Ohnrshyp is a free music platform. We make tools for independent artists — electronic press kits, music storage, direct-to-fan sales, and a growing suite of distribution and business tools designed so a working musician can keep more of what they earn. We don't charge artists to use the platform. We earn a small commission when a fan buys directly from an artist. When artists win, we win. That shape matters.
Under the hood, we also run an Audio Protocol: a stack of seven to eight machine learning models that work together on every release. They identify AI-generated music, flag potentially stolen recordings or unlicensed samples, and embed a neural watermark carrying the release's metadata directly into the audio itself. The watermark travels with the song wherever it goes — useful for attribution, analytics, and artist rights in an era where audio can be copied, re-uploaded, or regenerated in a single click.
So why did a music platform build a learning platform?
Because in an AI era, we think the only sustainable shape for a company is to be a unified solutions provider across the sectors it actually cares about. We care about music. And music is not just a commercial product — it is a bridge into science (how sound works), math (why scales, rhythm, and ratios behave the way they do), reading and writing (lyrics, liner notes, cultural criticism), engineering (recording, production, distribution), and creative life in general. A more informed musician, listener, parent, educator, or curious passerby is better for music and better for everyone around music.
Sophon is how we contribute back. No login, no paywall, no advertising, no tracking for ad targeting. We think it is also good for our business long-term — the two goals are not in conflict. We built it because we could, because we wanted to, and because the only real limits are imagination and the willingness to help.
We wanted a fun, welcoming place for people of all ages to learn. No prerequisites. No grade level. No sign-ups. Just six subjects you can wander through at your own pace:

We're not an education company. We just thought the world could use one more fun, welcoming place to learn — so we built one and made it free.
That said, we took the work seriously. Every lesson has been reviewed for accuracy, with sourcing, citations, and standards crosswalks across the whole curriculum. That work is guided by learning principles reflected in:
- Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
- Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (CCSS ELA)
- Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS Math)
- National Core Arts Standards for Music (NCAS)
We aim to align with widely used standards and keep improving with sources, review, and community feedback. We are not claiming formal certification or a perfect final review.
Our Standards Approach
We tried to match each subject to the standards framework that best fits it: `NGSS` for science, `NGSS` engineering-design elements for engineering, `CCSS ELA` for reading and writing, `CCSS Math` for math, and `NCAS` for music.
We also tried to make the lessons more accountable by adding citations, visible source sections, clearer standards notes, and labels where an example is illustrative or approximate rather than a precise factual claim.
The goal is not to overclaim. The goal is to show our work, make the lessons stronger, and give learners, parents, and educators a clearer picture of the thinking behind them.
